These dining chairs are made of Teak. They originally had Danish Cord woven in a basket weave fashion covering the seats. Quite often it is hard to find someone who can do this kind of work so alternatives are used. There are six chairs all together - 2 captains and 4 sides. Teak furniture is very good and worth restoring back to the original. The upholstery on the seats makes these chairs look very heavy and not balanced. Removing it will be a challenge, but once the Danish cord is completed the lines of the chairs will become much more natural.
