Cane

This sweet chair is a piece of art all by itself. It has lovely lines and the back is handwoven cane. You can see below the previous caner chose to peg the cane into the holes. The holes in the wood go all the way through to the back so the caner has the choice of pegging or threading the cane through the hole and back up through the next hole, not using the pegs.

On the bottom right we have stages 1 - 4 finished. The top left is stage 5 started. You can see how one stage leads to the next.

The completed 6 stages forming the small octagons. The cane is stained to match the furniture piece.

The finished project! This cane will last many years with very little care. We then recovered the cushion for the seat in our seashell chenille. To visit all our fabric options click on the fabric image below.
